In Kindergarten, I distinctly remember painting a paper mache fish with purple-orange stripes and polka dots that won the school art contest. Reading the names of crayon colors was exciting. Every early memory was intertwined with a love for art. Perhaps it is true when they say to observe your 8 year old self when searching for your career.

As a Korean-American I thought I had to go the typical pre-med route. There was no way I would be a “starving artist”. Still I would find myself lost in the library amidst all the graphic design books.

I made the leap of faith to go into communications design my second year of college and never looked back. I worked at agencies and found a sweet spot when specializing in branding. When I had my kids, I started my own design studio and opened my own shop, called Tokki Goods.

I am a wife, a mother of two, and owner of Tokki Goods. When I’m not designing, you can find me reading a book, cooking or at hot yoga.
